Since 3 February 2025, multiple fires have ignited across the West Coast due to dry lightning strikes.

Grants Available
Emergency Assistance Grants
The Tasmanian Government's Emergency Assistance Grant is available to affected residents of areas impacted by the February 2025 West Coast complex bushfires including Sandy Cape, Pieman Heads and Corinna.
The purpose of the grant is to assist impacted people to obtain:
- essential and appropriate shelter;
- clothing, food, transport; and/or
- personal items.
If you have been evacuated or displaced form your residence due to the bushfires, you may be eligible for the grant.
