Recovery supports
On Thursday 22 February 2024, extremely hot and dry conditions were experienced across Tasmania, and several significant bushfires started in the Central Highlands local government area. This included Dee, Bradys Lake, Tarraleah, Victoria Valley, Osterley and Highlands Waters, as well as smaller bushfires in other areas.
Bushfires are traumatic and devastating events that can cause disruption and damage to local communities.
If you have been affected by the bushfires, the following information is specifically for you, to assist you and your community in getting back on your feet.

The Tasmanian Government’s Emergency Assistance Grant is available to affected residents of the impacted areas.
