Donations
The best way to help during and in the aftermath of an emergency is to donate money. Money allows those affected to make their own choices about what they need the most as part of their recovery. A good way to raise money to donate is to hold a garage sale or fundraising event.
Where donated goods are appropriate, official sources will advise what is required and donation/collection arrangements. Managing inappropriate donated goods that are not needed by those affected can take time and resources away from the important work of helping those affected by disaster.
In an emergency, details of the most appropriate organisations will be provided on TasALERT.com.
